Lab-Metal Repair Putty

Ready-to-use metal repair and patching compounds
"Metal putty for metal!"

Lab-metal - aluminum filled, ready-to-use repair compound. One-part; apply right from the can. No mixing or measuring so there's no waste. Doesn't need to be cured in the oven. Fix dents, scratches, gouges, surface defects, and holes. It's rust-proof, water resistant and oil resistant. Drill it, tap it, sand it, grind it...it's the perfect solution in an imperfect world.

We recommend you order a can of solvent with your first can of Lab-metal. Try one of our Starter Kits. Scroll to the bottom of this page for and explanation of the difference between regular Lab-Metal or Hi-Temp Lab-Metal.

* For powder coating processes at temperatures LESS than 350°F, Lab-metal may be used (even for multiple oven passes). Lab-metal typically air dries within 6 hours (depending upon application thickness and air temperature).

* For powder coating processes in which the metal parts will NEVER be subject to temperatures higher than 425°F, for durations NO LONGER THAN 20 minutes, for NO MORE THAN one oven pass, Lab-metal may be used.

* Hi-Temp Lab-metal MUST be used in powder coating processes running at temperatures above 425°F.

* Hi-Temp Lab-metal MUST be used if a part is to be exposed to temperatures above 350°F for more than 20 minutes in duration (or multiple high-heat exposures).

* Hi-Temp Lab-metal MUST be applied in thin layers and allowed to air dry for A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS, then heat cured as instructed on the product label. (If Hi-Temp Lab-metal is not completely dry when subject to heat, and if the product is not properly heat hardened, out gassing or bubbling is likely to occur).
